F.T. Island's Minhwan Strikes Big Deal: Sells Gangnam Property for $2.7 Million Amidst Controversy!
In a shocking turn of events, Minhwan, the drummer and vocalist of the popular K-pop band F.T. Island, has reportedly sold his property in the Yulhyun-dong area of Gangnam-gu for a staggering $2.7 million USD (approximately 3.8 billion won). This sale, disclosed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport's real transaction price system, took place in mid-August, and it's revealed that Minhwan initially purchased the home around a decade ago for about $855,000 USD (roughly 1.2 billion won).
This single-family residence is located in a tranquil neighborhood, ideal for family living. Minhwan had previously converted the house into a multi-family dwelling, featuring one basement and two levels above ground, to accommodate both his family and his parents.
The house had served as a family home since his marriage in 2018 to Yulhee, a former member of LABOUM, after which they shared living space there. Following their divorce in December 2023, Minhwan reportedly continued to reside in the house with his children and parents.
However, this sizeable real estate transaction comes at a turbulent time for Minhwan. He is currently embroiled in a police investigation concerning allegations of soliciting prostitution. His ex-wife Yulhee has accused him of frequenting hostess bars during their marriage, adding to the mounting public scrutiny.
In light of these serious allegations, FNC Entertainment announced that Minhwan would be pausing all media activities, raising concerns about the future of his career.
Stay tuned as we uncover more details about this unfolding saga involving one of K-pop’s beloved idols! What does this mean for F.T. Island's upcoming projects? Will Minhwan be able to navigate through this storm? The plot thickens!
