The chaos unfolded just after 2 a.m. on Balfour Drive near Hedley Street, according to local police. "We just heard really loud noise. And it was terrifying because it was extremely loud," remarked Lovele Gill, a neighbor who was shocked by the sudden violence. Another resident, Seanna Koopmans, initially mistook the sounds for fireworks, only to realize the horrifying reality when a car sped away.

Family Miraculously Unharmed

Inside the home at the time were the occupants, who were startled awake by the explosive sounds of gunfire hitting their house. Thankfully, no one was physically injured, but the psychological impact of such a terrifying experience is undeniable. Police Sgt. Paul Walker expressed his concern for the frightened family, stating, "They were extremely concerned, extremely fearful, and I can only imagine what they’re dealing with today in the aftermath."

Though initial findings suggest no immediate connection to ongoing extortion threats, police are determined to uncover why this residence was targeted. Walker noted, "This is a residence that does not scream, police contact. It’s something that we’re trying to figure out why they were targeted."

This is normally a very quiet neighborhood. Nothing like this has happened in like, 12 years that I know of in the area."
