Exciting news for Pixel 10 enthusiasts! The highly anticipated September 2025 security patch update is rolling out to a select group of Pixel 10 users.

What's New with the Pixel 10 Series?

Launched with Android 16 QPR1, the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL made a splash right from day one, debuting with the latest build, BD3A.250721.001. This version already includes the stunning Material 3 Expressive redesign alongside the August 2025 security enhancements.

Update Details: What to Expect!

Earlier today, some lucky Pixel 10 owners reported receiving a new update, approximately 70 MB in size. After installation, the build number changes to BD3A.250721.001.B7, featuring the fresh September 5, 2025 security patch. Interestingly, the Google Play system update remains set to June 1, 2025.

Is This Just a Minor Update?

While the update may seem straightforward, it’s hoped that it includes crucial bug fixes. However, it's important to note that these devices are not part of the Android Beta Program yet, so stable performance is likely prioritized.

Not Everyone Is Getting It Yet!

Caution to Pixel 10 users: Not every owner of the Pixel 10 series, including the 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL, has received this update just yet. Additionally, the new factory and OTA images have not gone live. Please stay tuned!

Fun Fact: Meet the Codenames!

Following last week’s launch, Google's factory image page introduced some fun, horse-themed codenames for the devices: The Pixel 10 is codenamed 'frankel', the 10 Pro takes on 'blazer', and the 10 Pro XL is known as 'mustang'. What a fitting tribute to their robust performance!
