In a shocking incident at Orlando International Airport, a Delta Air Lines jet erupted in flames just before takeoff, prompting a swift evacuation of passengers on Monday morning.

The harrowing event unfolded as Delta Flight 1213 was pushing back from the gate bound for Atlanta around 11:15 a.m. Luckily, all 282 passengers, along with 10 flight attendants and 2 pilots, escaped without injury.

As flames erupted from the tailpipe of one of the engines, Delta crew members quickly activated emergency procedures. Passengers were seen sliding down inflatable chutes in dramatic escape footage shared on social media.

Delta confirmed a fire in one engine, indicating that maintenance teams would investigate the cause of the blaze. Passengers were escorted back to the terminal and the airline promised to provide another aircraft to continue their journey.

"Nothing is more important than safety," Delta stated, expressing gratitude for customers' patience amidst the chaos.

This incident isn't Delta’s first brush with danger this year. Back in February, another Delta flight crash-landed in Toronto, flipping upside down and catching fire, yet all aboard survived the terrifying ordeal.

In light of the recent scare, Delta has offered $30,000 in compensation for each passenger affected, amounting to a whopping $2.3 million total payout. The airline assures this offer comes with "no strings attached," allowing passengers to reclaim their rights.

As the investigation unfolds, both the airline and its customers are left to reflect on what could have been a disaster. Stay tuned for further updates on this gripping story!
