From August 1 to September 18, 2025, police officers responded to no fewer than nine distressing reports involving a suspect making threatening remarks and gestures towards women near Fincham and Larkin Avenues. The community was understandably alarmed, fearing for their safety.

On September 23, this fear came to a halt when investigators tracked down the suspect, 26-year-old Devante Dungy, in the very area where the threats occurred. Dungy was taken into custody, marking a significant step towards restoring safety.

However, Dungy’s past raises red flags. At the time of his arrest, he was already on probation and subject to a prohibition order due to unrelated incidents.
