NASA has unveiled a stunning new image taken by the iconic Hubble Space Telescope, showcasing the captivating spiral galaxy NGC 2835.

Discovering NGC 2835: A Cosmic Wonder

Located a staggering 35 million light-years away in the southern constellation of Hydra, NGC 2835—also known as ESO 564-35, LEDA 26259, and UGCA 157—spans approximately 65,000 light-years, making it just over half the size of our own Milky Way.

A Glimpse into History

This celestial gem was first spotted by the German astronomer Wilhelm Tempel on April 13, 1884. It holds the title of the leading member of the NGC 2835 group, which also includes fellow galaxies ESO 497-035 and ESO 565-001.
