Rivian Impresses with Q4 Production and Delivery Numbers

Rivian, the American electric vehicle manufacturer, has just announced impressive production and delivery figures for the fourth quarter of 2024. With 12,727 vehicles produced at their plant in Normal, Illinois, and a total of 14,183 deliveries, they significantly exceeded analysts’ expectations. According to Reuters, the consensus was 11,398 and 13,472 respectively.

This marks a 42 percent increase from the previous quarter, making it Rivian’s highest delivery count in over a year.

In total for 2024, production is up to 49,476 vehicles, while deliveries amount to 51,579, in line with the company's prior guidance indicating production of 47,000–49,000 and deliveries between 50,500 and 52,000.

But it doesn't stop there! Rivian has also confirmed that the component shortages that have plagued their production are now resolved. This issue led them to cut their production target earlier in October, with the original goal set at a hefty 57,000 units.

All of this has resulted in a significant boost for Rivian's stock, which has risen 17 percent during the day. This raises the company's market value to over $13.5 billion.

Rivian's strong performance in a challenging market has led to speculation about the company’s future, and many investors are beginning to believe they could become a real competitor to Tesla.
