Recent surveys by Medián reveal a surprising twist in the popularity stakes in Hungary: 95% of respondents recognize Magyar Péter, while his political rival, Orbán Viktor, is known by a staggering 100%. Despite this, Magyar Péter enjoys a notable advantage in terms of likability among the population – writes Hvg.hu, referencing their recent representative survey conducted between October 28 and November 4. A particularly intriguing finding is that the majority of individuals under 40 years of age support the Tisza Party, with the party reportedly gaining the lead over Fidesz among both the general population and committed voters.

It’s noteworthy that the recognition level for Magyar Péter stands at 95%, especially when compared to Novák Katalin’s successor, Sulyok Tamás, whose recognition has only grown to 70% since his inauguration in March. Additionally, 51% of those who know Magyar Péter find him sympathetic, whereas only 40% of respondents feel similarly towards Orbán Viktor.

When comparing the popularity of the two political figures further, the results show that Orbán’s popularity aligns closely with that of Gergely Karácsony, who is recognized by 97% of respondents, with 41% expressing sympathy towards him. Notably, Ferenc Gyurcsány emerges as the least popular politician, known by 98% of the sample but only favorable to 11%.

Breaking down the popularity factor by party affiliation reveals interesting trends: unsurprisingly, 98% of Tisza Party voters find Magyar Péter appealing, while 97% of Fidesz voters feel the same about Orbán. Among individuals without party affiliation, 42% view Magyar favorably, compared to only 29% for Orbán; László Toroczkai has 25%, Sándor Sulyok has 33%, Gyurcsány is at 10%, and Karácsony has 35% sympathy.

This survey concluded that Magyar Péter's public image is on the rise, showcasing a potential shift in the political landscape ahead of the elections. Voters seem to be increasingly open to alternatives to the long-standing Fidesz administration. Given the evolving political climate and increasing competition from parties like the Tisza Party, Hungary's political future could be more dynamic than ever.
