MARRAKESH, Morocco — The vibrant city of Marrakesh recently played host to the grand finale of the 2024 Trophée Roses des Sables rally, concluding on October 26 with a spectacular awards ceremony and a celebratory gala. This year, 125 passionate teams braved demanding terrains and daunting obstacles, united by a powerful mission of community service, philanthropy, and solidarity. Among these dynamic teams was Crew 21, or the “Colibris des Sables” association, proudly sponsored by TSplus.

A Commitment to Help and Inspire

TSplus was honored to support Crew 21, comprised of the inspiring duo Alexandra and Pauline. Their participation was motivated by a dual purpose: to assist local communities in Morocco and raise awareness for autoimmune disease research through their association. Unfortunately, trouble struck early in the race when Pauline had to withdraw on the second day due to severe health issues. However, Alexandra’s determination shone through as she sought permission from the rally organizers to continue the journey solo, ultimately teaming up with another participant who faced a similar setback.

Despite the odds stacked against them, Alexandra's relentless spirit became a beacon of hope, showcasing a hallmark of resilience inherent to the rally. Throughout the event, Crew 21 engaged in acts of kindness, assisting locals with resources, and offering help to fellow participants stranded in the harsh desert sand — sometimes risking penalties for their team in the process. This selfless dedication captured the very essence of the Trophée Roses des Sables, emphasizing compassion as much as competition.

Celebrating Connections Beyond the Finish Line

Over ten exhilarating days, participants reveled in the breathtaking beauty of Morocco, navigating rocky trails, majestic dunes, and culminating in a thrilling marathon stage that concluded near the dramatic fortress of Gara Medouar. The closing festivities in Marrakesh brought teams together with family and friends, culminating in the awards ceremony. Though Crew 21 didn’t secure a podium finish, their true achievement lies in the bonds created, lives impacted, and their unwavering commitment to their cause.
