Exciting News for Galaxy Users!
Samsung is making waves by expanding its One UI 8 beta program to its flagship 2023 device, the Galaxy S23! As the tech giant has been beta testing Android 16 for the Galaxy S24 and S25 for some time now, anticipation is skyrocketing.
Massive Update for Galaxy S23 Ultra!
The YHB firmware for the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a colossal 3181MB download, packing the latest One UI features along with the vibrant Android release. Users can also enjoy the September 2025 security patch that comes along with this substantial update.
More Devices Joining the Fun!
Initially announced in early August, the One UI 8 beta program will soon be available for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 as well. Expect their beta versions to go live in just a few hours or days!
What’s New in One UI 8?
Alongside Android 16, One UI 8 introduces a sleek redesign of the Quick Share interface, making wireless file sharing faster and more intuitive. We've also seen revamps across key system apps such as Samsung Internet and Reminders. Additionally, core Samsung apps like Health, Contacts, and Secure Folder have received significant functionality upgrades!
How to Join the Beta Program!
Galaxy S23 owners can hop on board the One UI 8 beta by using the Samsung Members app. To get started, head to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to snag the YHB build.
What to Watch Out For!
Worried about your apps? Fear not! Upgrading to the One UI 8 firmware won’t erase your installed apps or their data. However, if you decide to exit the program and revert to One UI 7, be prepared for a clean sweep of all your data.
Mid-Range Devices are in the Mix!
In addition to the Galaxy S23, Samsung has opened the One UI 8 beta to several mid-range champions: the Galaxy A55, A54, and A35! What a treat for users of these devices!
Global Rollout Plans!
Currently, the beta firmware is available in India, with expectations for a rollout to South Korea and select European nations soon. In the US, only unlocked Galaxy S23 models are eligible to join the beta party.
What’s Next for Samsung?
Samsung plans to officially launch One UI 8 for the public alongside the Galaxy S25 series later this month, followed by an expansion to more Galaxy models in October. Right now, only the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are shipping with a stable version of One UI 8 straight out of the box.
