In an extraordinary turn of events, pop sensation Katy Perry revealed that she believes she received a divine message to participate in the upcoming Blue Origin space mission.
At 40, Perry is gearing up to take flight as part of an all-female crew on Jeff Bezos’s New Shepard NS-31 mission, orchestrated by journalist Lauren Sanchez. The launch, set for Monday at 8:30 AM local time from West Texas, promises an exhilarating journey of approximately 11 minutes into the cosmos.
A day before liftoff, Perry took to Instagram to share her mystifying connection to the mission, stating, "I’m always looking for little confirmations from the heavens, from my guides, from my angels, from my higher self.” She emphasized that these signs become especially clear when she actively seeks them.
During her training for the voyage, Perry encountered striking coincidences tied to the affectionate nicknames her mother has for her. She recounted how, upon learning about the capsule, she was thrilled to see it bore the outline of a feather, a symbol her mother has always used to refer to her.
"When I saw that feather, it felt like a total confirmation," she expressed. "Later, during our training simulations, we discovered the capsule's name: Tortoise. An energetic wave rushed through me as I realized my mother calls me both 'Feather' and 'Tortoise.' What are the odds that I’m heading to space in a capsule named Tortoise, with a feather symbol?"
Perry enthusiastically declared, "There are no coincidences! I am deeply grateful for these confirmations, feeling as if something greater than myself is guiding this journey.”
Joining Perry on this monumental flight are remarkable women from diverse fields, including rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bio-astronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen, CBS Mornings host Gayle King, and film producer Kerianne Flynn, alongside Sanchez. This flight marks the 11th human mission for the Blue Origin program, which has taken various passengers, including Bezos, to the stars since its inception in 2021.
Sanchez stated that the mission aims to inspire people to "dream big" and praised the crew as "incredible storytellers," emphasizing the importance of their journey.
