Newcastle United's rising star, Anthony Gordon, is generating buzz as he is tipped to become "one of the best wingers in the world" very soon, according to his recent international opponent. The England international has shown remarkable form since joining Newcastle from Everton in the summer of 2023.

Reflecting on the challenge, Stahl praised Gordon's skills, stating, "Gordon gave him some difficulties. But he did well." Stahl, who has kept a close eye on Gordon since his transition to Newcastle, shared his admiration: "I think he is awesome. To meet him and feel his speed… I see myself as a fast player, but you understand that there are levels in football. It was a lot of fun."

After the match, Stahl even exchanged shirts with Gordon, pointing out his humility and sportsmanship. "He was a nice and humble guy," he recounted.

When asked about the difficulty of facing Gordon compared to other attackers in the Swedish league, Stahl declined to make direct comparisons, highlighting the talent present in Allsvenskan.

Former player Alan Shearer also weighed in on Gordon’s potential, suggesting a strategic positional change for the remainder of the season following Newcastle’s 2-1 victory over Wolves. He noted a tactical scenario where Gordon and fellow player Harvey Barnes could both occupy the left flank to cut in from that side, benefiting the team's attacking play.

Shearer proposed a potential dream front three for Newcastle: "If Isak is fit, I would have Gordon on the right and Barnes on the left with Isak down the middle. That’s a really good front three."
