In the world of high fashion, matching outfits can be a nightmare for some, but for radio DJ Jean Danker and actress Vanessa Vanderstraaten, it was a moment of pure delight! The pair turned up to the inaugural Mediacorp Screen Awards 2025 wearing the exact same stunning emerald green tube dress.

The event took place on August 29 at the chic Pan Pacific Orchard ballroom, where Danker was one of the hosts alongside an illustrious lineup that included Irene Ang and Suhaimi Yusof.

As if fate had a sense of humor, co-host Suhaimi playfully outed Danker in front of the audience, revealing the unexpected outfit clash with Vanderstraaten, who was seated in the audience.

Both glam stars donned the eye-catching number from Rentadella, a fashion label created by Singapore’s own Ming Bridges. Instead of feeling embarrassed, the stylish duo took it all in stride, happily posing for a playful video together.

In a light-hearted moment outside the restroom, the two ladies discovered their fashion match-up and were caught in an adorable moment of surprise. Vanderstraaten recounted, "We were like 'Eh!' and then there was just a lot of screaming. But I think she looks amazing in this dress!"

When asked who wore it better, Vanderstraaten didn’t hesitate, exclaiming, "Of course it's Danker! She's so toned and athletic. She looks amazing!" Despite this being her first time sharing an outfit with anyone at such an event, Vanderstraaten felt no embarrassment, instead seeing it as an opportunity to shine even brighter.

"I thought I was a bit overdressed anyway, and then I saw our beautiful host wearing the same dress!" she chuckled. What caught her off guard was being called out on stage for it—"I didn't think Jean would do that, but she’s so lovely. It was just like the Spider-Man meme!"

Post-event, Danker revealed to 8 Days that she didn’t anticipate being called out about the stylish slip-up, but embraced it fully, stating, "Vanessa is a good sport, so I knew she’d have a laugh." The two women have shared many moments at industry events over the years, and this one definitely tops the charts!

"I think we both really rocked it, to be honest!" Danker mused, proving that sometimes, fashion faux pas can turn into fabulous moments—even when the spotlight is shining bright!
