F1 Boss Heads to Bangkok: Could Thailand Join the Race?

In an exciting development for Formula One fans, Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of F1, is set to visit Bangkok next week after the Australian Grand Prix to discuss the possibility of hosting a thrilling Grand Prix in the vibrant Thai capital. Domenicali, who has affirmed his commitment to the sport by extending his contract through 2029, is eager to explore new markets as F1 continues to gain popularity worldwide.

While the majority of the 24-race calendar is secured for the foreseeable future, certain events—like the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort—only have contracts running until 2026. Meanwhile, the Belgian Grand Prix has managed to negotiate a deal ensuring its place in the calendar for four out of the six years from 2026 to 2031, thereby allowing space for new races.

Domenicali expressed optimism about Thailand's potential, hinting that it might be a strong contender among other international venues looking to join the F1 circuit. He stated, “The good thing we were able to do in the last couple of years has been to focus on places that we believe represent the future for F1.
