For nearly 25 years, MeisterSinger has been the go-to brand for single-hand timepieces, establishing a unique identity with its relaxed approach to displaying time. This distinctive philosophy eliminates the rush of minute and second hands, offering a more tranquil way to view hours and minutes. As we eagerly anticipate Watches and Wonders 2025—where MeisterSinger will make its debut—the brand is set to explore exciting new frontiers with its latest creation: the Kaenos Collection.
Embracing a sporty-chic aesthetic, the Kaenos Collection features an integrated bracelet—a major trend that has been gaining traction in recent years. While many brands draw inspiration from vintage designs, MeisterSinger, founded in the early 2000s, is taking a contemporary approach to the elegant steel sports watch. The Kaenos is thoughtfully crafted for daily wear, combining sophistication perfect for professional settings with the robustness suitable for adventurous weekends.
The name Kaenos comes from the Greek word "kainos," which translates to "new" or "fresh." Centered around a barrel-shaped case with a 40mm diameter, the watch boasts a traditional round bezel that eschews any superficial design elements often seen in contemporary timepieces. The case features a blend of brushed and polished surfaces, highlighting quality through subtle detailing, including a crown adorned with the iconic fermata symbol of MeisterSinger.
With a water resistance of 100 meters, the Kaenos is designed for everyday durability, whether you're diving into water sports or simply navigating daily errands. Perhaps the standout feature of the collection is its seamlessly integrated steel bracelet, crafted with H-shaped brushed links complemented by polished edges, leading to a reliable folding clasp with a push-button release.
The MeisterSinger Kaenos Collection showcases two versions: the classic Kaenos and the Kaenos Open Date. Adhering to the brand's hallmark design, the traditional Kaenos utilizes a single hand for timekeeping, displaying hours and minutes in five-minute intervals, alongside a date feature positioned at six o’clock. In contrast, the Kaenos Open Date employs a design reminiscent of MeisterSinger's acclaimed Peripgraph collection, featuring the same central hand alongside a recessed circular date display.
Both models embrace a unique dial architecture made of two superimposed layers—where numerals and hour markers are cut out from the top layer to reveal a luminous layer beneath, ensuring readability in all conditions. The innovative hour hand, available in black or brushed grey, also glows in the dark, further enhancing functionality.
Powering both the Kaenos and the Kaenos Open Date are reliable Sellita automatic movements, with the Kaenos utilizing the SW400 movement for a robust date display and the Kaenos Open Date relying on the well-established SW200 movement, based on the ETA 2824. They both operate at 4Hz and have a power reserve of around 38 hours, all visible through a sapphire caseback secured with four screws.
Launching as part of the permanent collection on April 1, 2025, the MeisterSinger Kaenos will be price-tagged at EUR 2,650, whereas the Kaenos Open Date will retail at EUR 2,950.
And that's not all! A collaboration with renowned horological designer Alain Silberstein introduces limited editions that elevate the Kaenos spirit with unique dials featuring geometric shapes and vibrant primary colors. The watches, now with a central seconds hand—an exciting departure from MeisterSinger's traditional single-hand format—are a celebration of modern design and horological artistry.
Each limited edition—offered in two variations, including a square date window and a distinctive golden recessed inner circle—will be limited to just 225 pieces, making them a collector’s dream. Available from early April, these gorgeous timepieces are priced between EUR 4,100 and EUR 4,400.
