Celtic Dominates Dundee United in Title-Clenching Win
In a sensational display of football, Celtic has triumphed once again, securing their 13th Scottish Premiership title in just 14 seasons following a staggering 5-0 win against Dundee United. This decisive victory propels Brendan Rodgers’s squad to an unbeatable 84 points with four games left to play.
With this result, Celtic draws level with their rivals, Rangers, boasting an equal 55 league titles each. Despite Rangers having a game in hand, they can only reach a maximum of 81 points, meaning Celtic's dominance remains unchallenged.
Chasing a Historic Treble!
Rodgers, celebrating his 11th trophy with Celtic, leads his team towards yet another potential domestic treble, having already clinched the League Cup and now gearing up to face Aberdeen in next month’s Scottish Cup final.
Celtic captain Callum McGregor expressed his pride, stating, "Amazing performance, outstanding. It means the world to us. We wanted to perform because if we do, we know we'll get what we want. The sky is the limit for us, and we aim to arrive in the Scottish Cup final in top shape for something special this season."
Goals Galore: Relive the Highlights!
Celtic wasted no time opening the scoring, with Ryan Strain of Dundee inadvertently directing Arne Engels’s corner into his own net at the half-hour mark. Just eight minutes later, Nicolas Kuehn doubled the lead, tapping home a cross from Daizen Maeda.
Kuehn and Maeda teamed up again just before halftime, with Kuehn finishing a slick cutback from Maeda to send the away fans into a frenzy.
The second half continued in similar fashion as Adam Idah scored almost immediately with a header from Alistair Johnston's cross. Idah then netted again, making it 5-0 after a brilliant passing move, slipping his shot past the Dundee keeper while enduring a challenge from Emmanuel Adegboyega.
Veteran Winger's Joy
James Forrest, Celtic's seasoned winger at 33, celebrated his 26th trophy with the club, making him their most decorated player. He shared his excitement, saying, "It's unbelievable to win another trophy with Celtic. As you get older, you appreciate these moments even more and don’t take them for granted. This team's standards are right up there!"
