Police Launch Manhunt Following AYE Collision

A shocking hit-and-run incident unfolded on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on September 5, and authorities are racing against time to identify the drivers of both a van and a car involved in the crash.

Eyewitness Shares Dash Cam Footage

Stomper James, a witness and driver of a white BMW caught in the chaos, has released dash cam footage capturing the alarming moments leading up to the collision.

What Happened? The Collision Breakdown

According to James, the mayhem happened in the right lane of the AYE, just past the Buona Vista exit. He was following a green Toyota Vezel when it abruptly swerved into the left lane, smashing into a red and grey van, which prominently displayed the logo of e-payment company AXS. The impact sent James's BMW crashing into the barrier.

"What’s infuriating is that neither the AXS van nor the green Vezel stopped to help," James noted, expressing frustration over the recklessness of the drivers.

Police Response and Ongoing Investigation

The police received reports of the three-vehicle accident around 2:35 PM, involving vehicles headed towards Changi Airport. However, by the time officers arrived, both the Toyota Vezel and the van were nowhere to be found.

"We are actively tracking down both drivers. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, though James admits to feeling severe pain all over his body post-accident," said a police spokesperson.

Call for Witnesses

Authorities urge anyone with information or dash cam footage from the AYE around that time to come forward to assist in the investigation. This could help bring the reckless drivers to justice and prevent similar incidents in the future.
