Tyra Banks' Heart-Wrenching Revelation: 'We Lost Our Home to the LA Wildfires'

In a deeply emotional moment, iconic model and television personality Tyra Banks revealed that she, too, has been affected by the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles. Speaking on the popular Australian morning show "Sunrise," the 51-year-old opened up about the loss of her home amidst the ongoing crisis.

"I lost my house," Banks stated candidly, before sharing her reason for not addressing the topic sooner. "I just didn’t want to pull a lot of attention to me. I feel like there are so many others who need that attention."

Banks was in Australia, where she and her partner, Louis Bélanger-Martin, split their time, when they received the heartbreaking news about their LA residence. Reflecting on that fateful day, she recalled, "We were at a friend’s house celebrating, but I kept checking my phone—not for my house, but for friends and family, ensuring they were evacuating."

The moment took a toll on her emotionally, as she admitted, "I just pulled it together and didn’t say anything to my friends. Later, we went home and we cried and had our moment."

Fortunately, Banks noted that their frequent travels between Australia and New York allowed them to salvage many precious mementos. "A lot of those mementos are here and in New York, so I didn’t lose that, thank goodness. But yes, it’s tough," she explained, showing resilience amidst adversity.

As of the latest reports, the wildfires have claimed at least 27 lives, destroyed over 12,000 structures, and forced more than 200,000 residents to evacuate. The Palisades and Eaton fires, two of the largest blazes, remain stubbornly uncontained, worsening the situation for countless families.

Several other high-profile individuals, including stars like Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, Billy Crystal, and Jeff Bridges, have also fallen victim to this catastrophic event, highlighting the widespread impact of the fires on the Los Angeles community.

In light of these events, many planned Hollywood happenings have been affected. Notably, the Critics’ Choice Awards originally scheduled for January 12, 2025, have been postponed to February 7 due to the fires' relentless toll on the region.

As the flames continue to wreak havoc, the celebrity community is rallying together, raising awareness and support for those displaced. Tyra Banks' heartfelt story serves as a powerful reminder of the human cost behind the headlines, urging us all to lend a helping hand in these trying times.
