Dementia Diagnosis? Expert Weighs In

A psychologist has boldly stated that President Donald Trump may be exhibiting signs of dementia. Dr. John Gartner, a former Johns Hopkins professor, shared alarming observations about the president’s mental state during an interview on The Daily Beast Podcast.

Critical Language and Cognitive Decline

According to Dr. Gartner, Trump has shown a "major deterioration" in crucial areas such as language, motor skills, and impulse control. He explained that diagnosing dementia involves comparing current functioning against a person's baseline capabilities.

"What many people fail to realize is that Donald Trump was once quite articulate," Gartner noted. "He spoke using a rich vocabulary and structured sentences. Now, not only has his vocabulary diminished, but at times, he struggles to complete his thoughts—or even words."

Bizarre Tangents and Confusing Speech Patterns

Dr. Gartner pointed out Trump's peculiar tendency to veer off-topic during discussions. He provided an example where Trump inexplicably transitioned from talking about immigrants to referencing the film "Silence of the Lambs," illustrating his fragmented thinking.

Malignant Narcissism Combined with Mental Decline

During the podcast, Gartner argued that Trump embodies a 'malignant narcissist' outlook, which he describes as a potent mix exacerbated by cognitive decline. "This results in a worst-case scenario; he is losing his ability to think clearly and control his behavior, on top of his already poor judgment and impulsivity," he stated.

Physical Symptoms Indicating Further Issues

The psychologist also raised concerns about Trump’s psychomotor performance. He mentioned consulting with dementia experts who believe Trump could have frontotemporal dementia, highlighted by his unusual gait. "If you observe him closely, you may notice he swings one leg oddly, which is not typical unless linked to such conditions," Gartner explained.

Health Issues Piling Up?

Gartner also referenced Trump's health complications, such as chronic venous insufficiency, and observations of his apparent 'droopy face' during public appearances. He speculated that these symptoms could suggest serious health issues, possibly even a mini-stroke.

"All these factors are interconnected; the circulatory problems could be influencing his mental deterioration, or he may be experiencing both dementia and other medical challenges. The reality is concerning, and it's evident he is deteriorating both mentally and physically," he concluded.
