Maxx Crosby is making headlines again, but this time the NFL star is taking a step off the field and into a pivotal role with his alma mater!

Eastern Michigan University has officially named Crosby as the Assistant General Manager for its football program. While he continues to crush it in the NFL, he’s now bringing his expertise back to where it all began.

Crosby expressed his heartfelt connection to the university: "There is no place more important to my personal and athletic development than Eastern Michigan University. It’s truly an honor for me to not only be named the Assistant GM, but also, alongside my wife Rachel, to make contributions that open doors for other athletes in our EMU community.”

In his new role, Crosby will dive into evaluating high school talent and transfer prospects, manage the team's NIL budget, and enhance fundraising and alumni relations, all while supporting current student-athletes. He’s the first active player to step into such a position, setting a new precedent in college football!

In a unique twist, EMU is even renaming its "LEO" defensive position to "MAXX," honoring Crosby’s illustrious career. Future top edge rushers will don the number 92, just like Maxx did during his college days.

"It’s always special when former players join our staff; this is a full-circle moment," said EMU head coach Chris Creighton, emphasizing Crosby’s powerful impact. "Maxx is a great mentor and leader whose dedication to developing players is truly inspiring. It’s rare to see a position named after someone — that speaks volumes about his legacy! Big-time edge rushers will be drawn to play at EMU, not just for the game, but for the opportunity to learn from one of the best."

During his college years, Crosby was a force to be reckoned with, racking up 20 career sacks and setting a single-season record with 11 sacks in 2017. Drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, he's since made a splash in the NFL with 59.5 sacks and a recent three-year, $106.5 million extension, briefly making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league.

With such a promising future ahead, Crosby's return to EMU signifies the powerful bond between athletics and community, and fans can’t wait to see the impact he will make!
