Running back Jaylen Warren is officially locking in his place in Pittsburgh! In a significant move for the Steelers, Warren's agent, David Canter, has confirmed that Warren has signed a two-year contract extension.
Currently in the final year of his initial deal, Warren is set to earn over $5.3 million in the 2025 season, which solidifies his standing in the team's plans moving forward.
A star on the rise, Warren joined the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and has since made a remarkable impact in 48 regular-season games. He boasts impressive stats with 346 carries for 1,674 yards and six touchdowns, alongside 127 receptions for 894 yards. In the postseason, he hasn’t shied away either, adding 10 carries for 44 yards and six catches for 35 yards in just two playoff appearances.
Historically, Najee Harris has held the title of lead running back in Pittsburgh throughout Warren’s first three seasons. However, this year, Warren finds himself at the top of the depth chart, poised to maintain his position through the 2026 and 2027 seasons if all goes according to plan.
With this extension, the Steelers are not only showing faith in Warren's abilities but are also positioning themselves for a bright future in their backfield. Fans are excited, and so are we – could Jaylen Warren be the key to a Super Bowl run?
