In a significant update for transit users, TransLink has announced that the VCC–Clark SkyTrain Station will remain “temporarily closed for the safety of the public” as of Thursday afternoon, September 26.
The closure was initiated earlier today due to a crane issue at a construction site adjacent to the station. According to alerts posted on the TransLink website, the problem stems from an “unstable crane,” leading to safety precautions that necessitated the station's closure.
As a result, Millennium Line SkyTrain services are currently terminating at the nearby Commercial–Broadway Station. This disruption is affecting many commuters who rely on this vital transit link.
In response to the situation, Bus Route 84 has been rerouted and will now extend from VCC–Clark Station to Commercial–Broadway Station, ensuring that passengers still have access to public transportation alternatives. Additionally, TransLink has deployed extra buses to operate between Main Street–Science World Station and Glen Drive, offering more flexibility and options to those affected by the closure.
TransLink is urging all riders to plan their journeys accordingly and stay updated on any further developments regarding the reopening of VCC–Clark Station. With such unexpected disruptions, transit users are advised to allow extra travel time and explore alternative routes.
Stay tuned for updates, and ensure your commute remains smooth despite these unforeseen circumstances!
