Police Seek Public's Help After Disturbing Assault

In a shocking incident that has rattled Surrey, police are turning to the community for assistance following a sexual assault that occurred while a woman was simply on her way to a bus stop on Tuesday morning.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) reported that the victim was walking along King George Boulevard, near 98 Avenue, when a man approached her under the pretense of needing to borrow her phone.

A Harrowing Encounter

When the woman declined his request, the situation escalated dangerously. The suspect violently pushed her into a nearby bush and assaulted her. Thankfully, the victim managed to fend off her attacker, who fled the scene heading northbound.

Sgt. Tige Pollock addressed the grave nature of the event, stating the victim suffered minor injuries but displayed remarkable courage in escaping her attacker.

Suspect Description Released

Investigators are now armed with images of the suspect, described as a tall, skinny man with black hair, last seen wearing a black t-shirt, maroon shorts, and distinctive black and white shoes.
