In a heartbreaking turn of events, Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that a second teenage girl has died as a result of a devastating jet ski collision on Lake St. Clair. This tragic incident had already claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl, and two others sustained injuries.

The collision occurred on August 14 at around 2 p.m. near Coutour Beach, just east of Windsor. According to officials, a personal watercraft towing a tube struck a steel break wall along the shoreline, leading to chaos on the serene waters.

Thanks to the quick response from first responders and nearby residents, four teens were rescued from the lake. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital, where a 17-year-old girl from Windsor-Essex County tragically succumbed to her injuries.

Heartbreak deepened when news broke that a second victim, another 17-year-old girl, along with a 15-year-old girl, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. However, the fourth teen, a 16-year-old girl from Calgary, was airlifted to a trauma center but sadly passed away a week later.

The Essex County OPP expressed their profound condolences to the families and friends affected by this unimaginable tragedy, reminding the community of the fragility of life while they continue to investigate the incident. As communities mourn the loss of these young lives, it's a grim reminder of the dangers that can lurk even in moments of summer fun.
