In a disturbing sequence of events, Peel police are actively searching for a suspect linked to two horrific and seemingly "unprovoked" assaults at a park in Mississauga that have left two elderly men injured. The incidents unfolded near the intersection of Applewood Hills Trail and Bloor Street, stirring fear and concern among local residents.

The most recent assault took place on a Friday afternoon when a 77-year-old man was leisurely walking through the area. Out of nowhere, an unidentified assailant approached him from behind and attacked him with a weapon. Astonishingly, the suspect fled the scene. Fortunately, the victim sustained injuries that are not life-threatening and was able to seek medical assistance.

This wasn't an isolated incident; just a few days earlier on September 19, a similar attack occurred. A 73-year-old man experienced the same terrifying ordeal—struck from behind with a weapon while he was walking. He was also taken to the hospital with injuries that, thankfully, were not life-threatening.

Peel police have released different descriptions of the suspect involved in these frightening episodes. They believe that the same individual may be responsible for both assaults, raising alarm over the potential threat this individual poses to the community.

The first suspect is described as a white male with a fair complexion, aged between 25 and 35 years, standing around six feet tall with a slim build. He was noted to be wearing a black baseball cap, a black t-shirt, dark grey pants, and black running shoes during the assault on the 77-year-old man.

The second suspect, involved in the earlier attack, is described as a white male, approximately 30 to 35 years old, around five-foot-eight, with a medium build. Witnesses reported that he was last seen wearing a dark-colored t-shirt and jean shorts.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information regarding these incidents or the identity of the suspect to step forward. You can reach out to Peel police at 905-453-2121 ext. 1233 or provide anonymous tips via Crime Stoppers.
