The first attack took place on September 19, shortly after 1 p.m., near Applewood Hills Trail and Bloor Street. A 73-year-old man was leisurely strolling in the area when a suspect approached him from behind and viciously struck him with a weapon. The assailant fled the scene immediately, leaving the victim to be rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries that, thankfully, were non-life-threatening.

Just over a week later, on September 27 at around 12:30 p.m., the terror struck again. A 77-year-old man found himself in the same area, only to become the second target of the same suspect. Again, he was approached from behind and assaulted with a weapon, sustaining injuries that required hospitalization but were not life-threatening.

Arrest and Charges

Following these alarming assaults, police officials released a statement announcing the arrest of 32-year-old Marcin Golebiowski of Mississauga, who has now been charged with aggravated assault, disobeying a court order, and assault with a weapon. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
