A desperate search is ongoing in the rugged terrain of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, as rescue crews comb through forests, mountains, and waterways for missing five-year-old Darius Macdougall. A spokesperson from Search and Rescue Alberta shared during a recent briefing, "There is no talk on the ground of anything other than a positive outcome."

Darius was last seen on Sunday while on a family outing near Island Lake Campground, approximately 250 kilometers south of Calgary. With 82 dedicated searchers from Alberta and British Columbia now on the case, the efforts have ramped up significantly. Search operations are being conducted both day and night with advanced tools, including dogs, drones, and helicopters outfitted with thermal imaging technology.

"The family wants to help," said Cpl. Gina Slaney, explaining that they are given appropriate tasks to assist without disrupting the search operations.

While the RCMP have released photos of Darius and are urging the public to report any sightings, they caution against citizens entering the area. "There are some statistics regarding survivability that keep us optimistic," stated Adam Kennedy, the provincial training manager for Search and Rescue Alberta. "Right now, we are still very, very hopeful about finding him alive."
