Exciting Upgrades on the Horizon!
Get ready, Valorant fans! Riot Games is about to supercharge your favorite tactical shooter by transitioning to Unreal Engine 5 this July. This significant upgrade promises to not only enhance gameplay but also introduce a much-awaited replay system in September.
From Unreal 4 to the Next Level!
Since its beta launch in 2020, Valorant has been running smoothly on Unreal Engine 4. Riot Games has leveraged this engine for over a decade, but the shift to Unreal Engine 5 signals a new era for the game. The impending patch 11.02, set for late July, aims to ensure that the transition is seamless, preserving that familiar Valorant feel while boosting frame rates and speeding up patch downloads.
Celebrating the Upgrade!
To celebrate this monumental upgrade, players logging in during patch 11.02 will receive an exclusive gun buddy. This is Riot’s way of thanking you for being part of Valorant's journey!
Replay System: A Game-Changer!
But that’s not all! Following the engine upgrade, a highly anticipated replay system will roll out in September with patch 11.06 for PC players first, before making its way to consoles. This feature will allow players to review their recent competitive matches, analyze their gameplay, and even report instances of cheating or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Tackling Cheating and Smurfing!
In an effort to curb smurfing—where high-ranked players manipulate the system by using lower-ranked accounts—Riot will introduce multi-factor authentication. This will bolster security and fairness in competitive matches, ensuring that everyone has a level playing field.
New Map and Gameplay Experience!
And if that wasn’t enough, players can look forward to a brand-new map launching with the 11.0 patch this month! This new addition will be available from day one in competitive mode, with a 50% reduction in rank rating (RR) losses on this map for the initial two-week cycle, allowing players to adapt without the risk of significant penalties.
Brace yourselves, Valorant community—these changes are poised to elevate your gameplay experience and make shooting your way to the top more thrilling than ever!
