It's Time to Revamp Destiny 2's Court of Blades Loot System!

As a dedicated player of Destiny 2, I can't help but feel a growing frustration with its seasonal content model, especially when it comes to the Court of Blades activity. While Bungie has made some strides in improving loot distribution, notably with Episode Heresy’s innovative approach to showering players with loot, the current Court of Blades experience leaves much to be desired.

The Court of Blades is undeniably fun, yet the effort required to farm for loot feels less rewarding compared to other activities. In each run, which typically takes around 15 minutes if your fireteam has honed an efficient strategy, players may only receive one or two loot drops. Even in Expert mode, securing an Adept drop feels like winning the lottery, and landing one with double perks is nearly mythical!

In stark contrast, the Nether activity from Episode Heresy spoils players with 2-3 weapon drops from each boss chest, plus additional loot from environmental chests, drastically improving the overall experience. This disparity highlights a critical flaw in the design of the Court of Blades, where the time spent farming simply does not equate to satisfactory loot acquisition.

Moreover, the existing loot tiers complicate and dilute the experience. Currently, we have: 1. Normal loot drops with standard perks 2. Masterworked loot drops with double perks 3. Adept loot drops with standard perks 4. Adept loot drops with double perks

To streamline the experience, I propose eliminating Adept drops with a single row of perks altogether. Given their rarity and the current loot structure, normal weapons boasting double perks already seem more enticing. If Adept weapons aren’t offering more value than their standard counterparts, why venture into Expert mode at all?

Unfortunately, any adjustments to these systems often take ages to implement. With two weeks for feedback to resonate and another two weeks to roll out changes, players may find little relief before the content cycle resets, potentially shifting focus to new activities in Act 3.

What’s clear is that the Court of Blades needs an overhaul. As players, we deserve a loot experience that matches the excitement of the battles we face. Until then, many Guardians will be left feeling underwhelmed and questioning their time investment in this seasonal activity. It's time for Bungie to listen to the community, reconsider their approach, and deliver the loot system that Destiny 2 players crave!
