In the picturesque small town of Innisfil, nestled on the shores of Lake Simcoe, the tranquility of yesteryear has been disrupted by rising crime rates and safety concerns that reflect urban issues rather than small-town charm.
Residents are increasingly worried about the rise of gangs and human trafficking, prompting a proactive response from local officials. In light of these pressing challenges, the Town of Innisfil has joined forces with community organizations to launch an engaging series of programs and events during Crime Prevention Week, aiming to bolster community awareness and safety.
"Our primary objective this Crime Prevention Week is to amplify awareness regarding crime prevention and community safety," stated Mayor Lynn Dollin. "The events will illuminate the critical concerns surrounding gang activity, human trafficking, and the pervasive influence of social media, while also equipping families with actionable strategies to protect themselves."
