Gboard's Game-Changer: Autofill with Google

In a recent update, Google has introduced a groundbreaking feature for Gboard users: the ability to seamlessly browse saved passwords and credit card information directly within the keyboard. This enhancement aims to simplify your digital life by making autofill more accessible than ever.

How It Works

As Gboard rolls out this feature, users will receive a prompt to enable "Autofill with Google" within their on-screen keyboard settings. Once activated, the option will be prominently displayed in your shortcut grid and can be tailored to your preferences.

Quick Access to Critical Info

The Autofill feature opens up two main categories within Gboard: Passwords and Payment Methods. Accessing your credentials is as simple as tapping the Gboard icon—a square with an asterisk and corner pencil. For passwords, Gboard will only display the login details relevant to the app you’re using at the time. As for credit and debit cards, users will need to enter security codes to access that information.

Why This Matters

This functionality significantly enhances convenience, allowing users to obtain necessary information without the hassle of waiting for Gboard suggestions or toggling back and forth between apps. In the past, when suggestions failed, users were forced to dive into their Password Manager and deal with tedious copy-pasting—now, those days are over!

Current Availability

Currently, this feature is being rolled out in the latest Gboard beta version (15.7.5.787916401) but requires Google Play services version 25.30 or higher. It's important to note that widespread availability is still on the horizon, so keep your eyes peeled for updates!
