In an emotional Instagram post, he expressed his shock and disappointment over the sudden change, stating, "No reason was given. Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage and I support whatever they feel is best for the band."

Having spent 40 years as a professional drummer, Freese admitted that he has never experienced being let go from a band before. What’s Next for Foo Fighters?

Though Freese never recorded any new material with Foo Fighters, he did hit the road with them supporting their 2023 album, 'But Here We Are,' marking their first release after Hawkins' tragic passing in March 2022. The band is set to kick off their first show of 2025 at the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix on October 4, but a replacement drummer has yet to be announced.
