It was anything but a typical day on the fairways of Two Eagles Golf Course in West Kelowna this past Monday, as chaos erupted on the 18th hole.

A clash between two groups of golfers, caught on camera by astonished witness Jennifer Pont, escalated dramatically. Tensions ran high, allegedly sparked by frustration over the slow pace of play.

An Unexpected Showdown

Pont expressed her disbelief at the altercation: "You just do not expect that, especially not on the final hole. It’s like they couldn’t hold their tempers for just a little longer; it blew up right at the finish line."

The group in white, who had been lagging behind, became infuriated when the group in blue began hitting ahead of them.

From Disagreement to Dueling

What began as an argument quickly spiraled into a full-blown brawl, with videos showcasing fists flying and voices raised in frustration.

Golf Course Takes Action

In response to the shocking incident, Two Eagles Golf Course made their stance clear: "Anyone who fails to adhere to our rules will be banned." The management has also requested the involved parties take responsibility and engage in restitution, potentially involving donations to local inclusive sports programs.

Police Investigation Underway

Local Mounties have confirmed that all individuals involved have been identified and an investigation is ongoing. Police labeled the incident as "nothing short of unacceptable behavior."

Community Safety First

Two Eagles Golf Course, proudly Indigenous-owned and located on Westbank First Nation land, reiterated its vow to community safety, with WFN stating, "We do not condone violence in any form."

Course ownership expressed that this was the first occurrence of such extreme behavior in over twenty years, promising to treat the situation with the utmost seriousness.

Pont, still reeling from the day’s events, remarked, "If you play golf, you’ve dealt with slow groups before — but you handle it without resorting to fists." This incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly frustrations can boil over, even in the serene setting of a golf course.
