A Nostalgic Reunion for 'Bones' Stars

Can you believe it's been 20 years since Fox's iconic procedural drama, Bones, first captivated audiences? Premiering on September 13, 2005, the series ran for a thrilling 12 seasons and wrapped up with a riveting 246 episodes by March 28, 2017. To celebrate this milestone, lead stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz reunited at the Bones 20th Anniversary Retrospective during the inaugural Televerse Festival!

Behind the Scenes: Singing Madness

As the beloved duo, who portrayed the brilliant forensic anthropologist Temperance 'Bones' Brennan and dashing FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, posed for photos on the red carpet, Boreanaz couldn't help but share a hilarious anecdote from their time on set. Apparently, Deschanel's impromptu singing drives him 'crazy.' "They were singing musicals, and it's driving me crazy," he laughed, channeling his character's classic straight-man humor.

In a fun exchange reminiscent of their on-screen banter, Deschanel challenged Boreanaz, asking him to name a song from a musical. Quick on his feet, he replied, "Sure. Annie. 'The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow.' You know?" Clearly, the chemistry between them hasn't faded one bit!

Cherished Memories and Potential Reboots?

Joining them for the nostalgic event were fellow cast members and the show’s creator Hart Hanson, alongside T.J. Thyne, Tamara Taylor, and Michaela Conlin. Deschanel reminisced about these musical moments as among her favorite memories, recalling, "Probably singing all the songs from the musical Annie with Eric Milligan. We got in trouble for that!"

Could 'Bones' Return?

After a dozen seasons filled with jaw-dropping plot twists—think kidnappings, serial killers, and deep emotional moments—Bones wrapped up its storylines leaving fans wanting more. With favorable ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics rated it an impressive 86%, there's been buzz about a possible reboot!

When asked, Deschanel didn’t shy away. "Never say never," she suggested. Earlier this year, she mentioned her openness to reviving the show while celebrating its legacy during an interview. "I don’t know if that would ever happen, but I'm open to it," she remarked. With the 20th anniversary sparking renewed interest, who knows what the future holds for Bones fans?
