In a shocking turn of events, a dare led a man to leap off the Cambie Street Bridge in Vancouver during the day. Just after 1:58 p.m. on May 9, firefighters training nearby were alerted to the alarming situation.

Firefighters Spring into Action

When the Vancouver Fire Rescue Services arrived, they found a 29-year-old man precariously situated on the rocks beneath the bridge, unable to reach the shore. Public information officer Matthew Trudeau reported that the fireboat crew quickly established communication and provided the man with a life jacket and flotation device.
