Returning to the QMJHL’s Victoriaville Tigres, 19-year-old Simon-Pier Brunet was a recent draft pick, chosen 123rd overall in the 2024 NHL Draft. Last season, he shined with the Drummondville Voltigeurs, racking up eight goals and 32 points across 60 games, posting an impressive +10 rating. The Sabres clearly see potential in Brunet, especially since he has already committed to play at Merrimack College for the 2026-27 season.

Bedkowski: The Enforcer's Journey

Next up is 18-year-old David Bedkowski, a towering 6’5”, 220-pound defenseman with a penchant for physical play. After scoring three goals and accumulating seven points with the Owen Sound Attack in the OHL last season, he also tallied an astonishing 73 penalty minutes. Bedkowski, selected 71st overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, is known for his aggressive style and strong presence on the ice—attributes that might take longer to translate into NHL success.

Meloche: A Goalie on the Rise

Lastly, Samuel Meloche will also return to the junior leagues, having just completed a solid season as the starting goalie for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. At only 18, Meloche put together a commendable 30-14-6 record, with a .900 save percentage and a 2.90 goals against average, along with five shutouts. Buffalo snagged him 116th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, and like Brunet, he’s set to join an NCAA program (Northeastern University) in the 2026-27 season.
