Toronto Police Intensifying the search for Phillip Grant

Toronto police are intensifying their search for a man linked to a shocking double homicide that occurred in January 2022 in Etobicoke. Authorities are urgently seeking the public's assistance in locating Phillip Grant, who is believed to be currently hiding in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Details of the Incident

In August 2022, law enforcement identified the now 34-year-old Grant as a key suspect in the tragic deaths of Minyali Wur, 24, and Chudier Reat, 20, who were fatally shot at an industrial complex located at 150 Thirtieth Street, near Kipling Avenue and Lakeshore Boulevard West. On that fateful night, police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered both victims suffering from critical injuries. Despite immediate medical attention, one succumbed to his wounds at the scene, while the other died the following day. A woman present at the scene also sustained injuries, but thankfully she survived.

Other Suspects and Police Pursuit

Alongside Grant, another suspect named Darriel Thompson, aged 24, is also wanted in connection with the double murder. Both men have since been placed on the Toronto Police Service’s Most Wanted List, and authorities have been actively pursuing leads to apprehend them.

Description of Phillip Grant and Call for Public Help

Recent intel suggests that Grant, who is originally from the Peel Region, has resurfaced in the GTA, prompting police to circulate his description and a recent photograph. He is described as a light-complexioned Black male, standing around 6 feet 1 inch tall with a weight of approximately 200 pounds. His muscular physique is complemented by brown eyes and black hair, which he often wears in braids. Notably, Grant bears distinctive scars on his left wrist, both hands, and the shin of his right leg.

Community Vigilance Encouraged

Toronto police have emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging anyone who spots Grant to immediately call 9-1-1. They also warned that anyone providing assistance to him in avoiding arrest could be charged as an Accessory After the Fact.
