Before the game, it was revealed that fans needed to consume 15,377 Loonie Dogs during the night to break the existing season record and surpass the impressive milestone of 700,000 sold. As the game progressed, it became clear the fans came ready to munch. By the end of the night, it was confirmed that the franchise exceeded the 700,000 mark for the first time in its history, although specific figures are yet to be disclosed.

Earlier in the season, on August 6, the Blue Jays set a high watermark for Loonie Dogs sold in a single game, with 71,391 hot dogs flying off the shelves against the Baltimore Orioles. However, that pales in comparison to the all-time single-game record achieved on August 28, 2023, with a staggering 76,627 Loonie Dogs sold against the Washington Nationals.

Due to the immense popularity of the Loonie Dog promotion, restrictions were placed on the number of hot dogs fans could purchase, limiting them to four per transaction to ensure that everyone could partake in the tasty experience.

In the game itself, the excitement didn't stop with the food. The Red Sox narrowly clinched victory, edging out the Blue Jays with a score of 6-5, further embedding the mixed emotions fans felt that evening.
