Zelenskyy's remarks, shared on Thursday, underscore the alarming reality on the ground. Both Ukraine and Russia are bracing for intensified combat, with Russia amassing troops along its southern frontline while Ukraine tests a formidable new long-range cruise missile.

Russia Accuses Ukraine of Avoiding Peace Talks

Russian officials responded with accusations, suggesting that Ukraine shows no real prospect for long-term peace, citing security demands that contradict Moscow’s terms.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump is actively pursuing a resolution to the conflict, engaging in discussions with both leaders. However, tangible progress toward peace remains elusive.

Urgent Need for Security Framework

"We need to establish a clear framework for security guarantees within the next week or so," Zelenskyy conveyed to reporters. He stressed the importance of understanding which nations would step up to support Ukraine at critical moments.

A coalition led by the United Kingdom and France is reportedly assembling to back these security assurances.

Zelenskyy indicated that should a meeting with Putin be arranged, it must take place in a neutral European country, explicitly ruling out Moscow as a venue.
