Over recent weeks, a number of viewers have taken to platforms like Reddit to share their baffling experiences, indicating that ad durations could range from 58 minutes to nearly three hours—far longer than any reasonable expectation.

One particularly stunned user recounted being forced to endure a staggering two-hour and 52-minute ad before finally settling down to watch a 49-minute video. This has understandably sparked a flurry of speculation among content consumers, with many suggesting that YouTube may be testing harsher measures to push users toward subscribing to YouTube Premium, which offers an ad-free experience.
