A New Chapter Begins for WP
SINGAPORE – The Workers' Party (WP) is gearing up for the 2025 General Election with a powerful new campaign slogan: "Working for Singapore." This announcement came shortly after the Writ of Election was issued on April 15, signaling a fresh approach to their electoral mission.
The party emphasized that while their slogans may evolve, their core mission remains unchanging. The WP strives to foster unity across Singapore's diverse population and aims to establish what they envision as a 'First World Parliament.'
Empowering Change Together
In a rallying call to Singaporeans, the WP encouraged citizens to "step up" and continue supporting their initiatives. The party credited the electorate for making history in the 2020 elections, where they achieved a record number of opposition Members of Parliament (MPs).
Highlights from the Teaser Video
Accompanying the slogan was a teaser video featuring all eight of the WP's elected MPs. In the clip, MP Gerald Giam underscored the significance of balance in the political landscape, advocating for a more diverse representation that goes beyond a single dominating party.
Associate Professor Sylvia Lim reinforced this idea by suggesting that the emergence of innovative ideas requires healthy political competition, a fundamental aspect of any mature democracy.
