Waze's Major Update for iOS Users

Waze, the beloved navigation app that thrives on real-time community-driven data, is making waves with a significant change for iOS users. While travelers have long depended on the constant input from fellow Waze users reporting everything from accidents to hazardous road conditions, a new development is set to enhance this experience dramatically.

End of Google Assistant Integration

Currently, Waze allows users to report various road issues through touch input. However, tapping the screen while driving isn't always practical or safe. Luckily, many users have turned to Google Assistant for quicker hands-free reporting. Unfortunately, the integration has faced several hiccups, especially for those on iOS devices. Due to these persistent issues and user complaints, Google has decided to cut the Google Assistant feature from the iOS version of Waze.

In a recent announcement, Waze’s team member Leigh confirmed on the Waze discussion platform, “We’ve decided to phase out Google Assistant on iOS...and replace it with an enhanced voice interaction solution in the near future.
