A startling case of measles has emerged in Perth, following the return of an overseas traveler from Singapore. This alarming incident unfolded when the individual arrived in Perth on Singapore Airlines flight SQ225 during the early hours of December 8. They were in Terminal 1 of Perth Airport between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM, exposing numerous passengers to the highly contagious virus.

Shockingly, this marks the second confirmed measles case in Perth within just a month! A previous traveler returning from Singapore on November 30 had already triggered concerns by visiting various medical clinics, pharmacies, and even a convenience store from December 2 to 6. The Western Australia Department of Health has provided a detailed list of exposure sites linked to this earlier case on their website.

Parents should be particularly vigilant, as babies as young as six months can receive a free measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine before traveling internationally.
