Older residents and vulnerable individuals in Guernsey and Alderney are being urged to take advantage of the upcoming Covid-19 booster vaccination initiative planned for this spring.
Starting from early April and continuing through June, vaccination teams will be mobilized to visit care homes and provide vaccinations to those who are unable to attend their GP surgeries.
Authorities emphasize that obtaining the booster is crucial, stating it remains “the most effective method for protecting yourself from this potentially severe illness.” This free booster programme targets specific groups, including:
- Adults aged 75 years and over
- Residents living in care homes for older adults
- Any individual aged six months and older who is immunosuppressed as outlined in the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book
With the potential for new variants to emerge, health officials are strongly encouraging those eligible to ensure they are vaccinated.
Staying updated with vaccinations not only protects individuals but also helps in safeguarding community health.
As the fight against Covid-19 continues, it is important for everyone, particularly those in high-risk categories, to stay informed about vaccination opportunities.
Don't miss your chance to enhance your immunity and contribute to a healthier community!
