Developed by Harvard, this powerful diet emphasizes an abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy proteins while steering clear of unhealthy fats and processed meats.

Participants who adhered closely to the AHEI had an incredible 86% higher chance of aging healthily compared to those whose diets strayed far from these guidelines. Interestingly, even among smokers or those with lower activity levels, healthy eating patterns were linked to better aging outcomes. On the flip side, higher consumption of ultra-processed foods correlated with poorer longevity.

Despite the impressive dataset and robust findings, the researchers acknowledged the limitations of their work. Observational studies might miss vital environmental influences, and self-reported data can be biased.
