What Makes ELLIOT Unique?

Initiated in July 2025, the ELLIOT initiative—fully known as European Large Open Multi-Modal Foundation Models for Robust Generalization on Arbitrary Data Streams—seeks to amplify the capabilities of AI by developing trustworthy and open multi-modal foundation models. These models will harness a plethora of data types, including text, images, videos, sensor data, and even satellite imagery.

CSC's Pivotal Role in the ELLIOT Project

By harnessing this powerful infrastructure, CSC facilitates the pretraining of foundation models and enhances their capabilities across various applications. Their initiatives include refining core model functionalities, improving reasoning and generalization, and adapting models for diverse practical uses.
