Spot the Teapot and M22!

At the top of the Teapot’s lid, you’ll find the bright star Lambda Sagittarii (magnitude 2.8). Just a short distance of 2.5° northeast, the dazzling globular cluster M22 awaits your discovery. Known for its brilliance, M22 shines at magnitude 5.1 and is among the brightest globular clusters visible in our sky.

A Gem of the Night Sky!

This stellar marvel is best enjoyed with binoculars or a small telescope. However, if you’re fortunate enough to be in an area with dark skies and a clear horizon, you might even see its fuzzy glow with the naked eye! M22 is roughly 10,000 light-years away from us and spans about 200 light-years across, housing an astonishing 70,000 stars within its grasp.
