Apple is spicing up its subscription service, Apple News+, by adding a fresh twist: a brand-new game! Announced on Thursday, the Emoji Game aims to captivate users and keep them coming back for more thrilling content, joining existing favorites like Crossword puzzles and Sudoku.

Game On: A Hidden Gem for Emoji Enthusiasts

Coinciding perfectly with World Emoji Day, the Emoji Game blends logic and wordplay, reflecting our modern emoji-driven conversations. Each day, players tackle new puzzles where they craft phrases by strategically placing emojis, all while aiming to complete the challenge in the fewest moves possible!

For example, if you see the word ‘appear’ represented by ‘ap’ with some blanks, you can drag the emoji for ‘pear’ to fill in the gaps and complete the word. Expect a fun challenge, as phrases will often require clever combinations and a bit of abstract thinking!

Crack the Code and Climb the Leaderboards!

Feeling stuck? No problem! You can reveal a hint to jumpstart your brain, but watch out—as hints cost you a move. Daily phrases galore mean you’ll have plenty of puzzles to solve, with six moves being the perfect score. Plus, you’ll be able to compare your scores with friends through exciting leaderboards.

But here’s the kicker: the game will leverage Apple’s innovative Genmoji, which are custom emojis generated by Apple’s AI, virtually expanding the emoji playground beyond the standard 2,000 options. Imagine seeing a Genmoji of a blender alongside a tomato emoji to create the word ‘purée’!
