Unleashing Opportunities: Event Organizer Sought to Celebrate PEPFAR’s 20-Year Legacy in Thailand
In a bold move to honor two decades of impactful support from PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief), FHI 360 is seeking a skilled event organizer to facilitate a high-profile gathering aimed at empowering Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) in Thailand. This event, set to coincide with World AIDS Day 2024, will highlight the crucial initiatives taken to close gaps in HIV services and promote human rights and social justice spearheaded by local organizations.
Who is FHI 360?
FHI 360 stands at the forefront of human development as a nonprofit organization serving over 70 countries worldwide. Its expertise spans health, education, economic development, and more, empowering communities through integrated and innovative solutions. In Thailand, FHI 360 has spearheaded numerous initiatives focusing on HIV prevention, care, and treatment, primarily aimed at the Key Populations – particularly men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW).
About the EpiC Project
Funded by USAID and PEPFAR, the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) Project operates with a clear mission: to achieve the UNAIDS goals of 95-95-95, which aims for 95% of people living with HIV to know their status, 95% of those diagnosed to receive sustained antiretroviral therapy, and 95% of those on treatment to achieve viral suppression. EpiC Thailand plays an essential role in not only tackling HIV transmission rates but also in strengthening the financial sustainability of CBOs involved in this critical work.
Objective of the RFP
Through this Request for Proposal (RFP), FHI 360 seeks to engage an event organizer who can assist in creating a platform that: 1. **Highlights PEPFAR’s Legacy**: Illuminate PEPFAR’s contributions over the past twenty years to HIV/AIDS response efforts and empower CBOs. 2. **Showcase Broader Initiatives**: Shed light on CBOs’ diverse efforts extending beyond HIV prevention, including human rights advocacy, gender equity, and youth development. 3. **Foster Private Sector Relationships**: Forge connections between CBOs and the private sector, creating opportunities for financial partnerships and collaborative efforts.
The gathering will serve as an opportunity for businesses and CBOs to explore joint ventures, fostering a collaborative environment that yields lasting social benefits.
Scope of Work for the Event Organizer
The selected organizer will be tasked with an array of responsibilities, including: - **Venue Management**: Securing a convenient venue that accommodates around 150 attendees, equipped with necessary audiovisual aids. - **Agenda Development**: Collaborating with FHI 360 to craft a compelling agenda, securing speakers and panelists who can deliver value to participants. - **Promotional Activities**: Generating awareness through promotional materials and media outreach strategies to drum up interest and attendance. - **Registration and Logistics**: Ensuring smooth on-site operations, including attendee check-in, catering, and technical support throughout the event.
Deliverables and Expectations
The event organizer will be expected to provide: - A comprehensive budget proposal outlining all anticipated costs. - A detailed report summarizing the event’s outcomes, including partnerships formed and participant feedback. - Post-event media engagement to capitalize on visibility and reinforce the narrative around CBO-private sector collaborations.
How to Get Involved
Interested applicants can submit their proposals to FHI 360 at [email protected] by November 11, 2024. Key submission components include a cover letter, event strategy, media PR plan, budget breakdown, and project management overview.
This event serves not just as a commemoration of PEPFAR’s enduring impact but also as a call to action for the private sector to engage with and invest in the sustainable solutions generated by local organizations.
