In a shocking revelation, the Philippine military disclosed that five underwater drones, recently found by fishermen, are capable of gathering critical data for potential "underwater warfare." At least one of these drones reportedly sent a signal back to China, raising alarming concerns.

While the military has not conclusively identified the origin of these drones, several bore Chinese markings. Alarmingly, forensic analysis of a SIM card found on one drone revealed its last connection was made to mainland China.

Critical Retrieval Locations

The drones were found in areas considered to be "critical chokepoints," including locations off Luzon's northern coast and around Masbate Island and Mindanao.

Joint Military Exercises with the U.S.

In a related development, the Philippines announced that this year’s Balikatan exercises with U.S. forces will, for the first time, feature tests of integrated air missile defense systems. Set to take place from April 21 to May 9, these drills will involve around 10,000 soldiers.

Brigadier General Mike Logico emphasized that the exercises are designed as rehearsals to bolster defenses against possible attacks, particularly in strategic locations on Luzon.
